Annual Report
2007

The Employment Training Program served 85 people in 2007. ETP provides a wide variety of community based services for individuals who have a developmental, or other, disability, and are looking for work. Services include: functional assessments on actual work sites, job development and training, and long-term follow-up.

Of these 85, 55 (65) are male and 30 (35) are female.

Age:

The average age of all clients served is 38 years. The youngest clients are 21 and the oldest client is 62.

Ethnicity:

The largest ethnic group served was Caucasian (N=62), the next largest group was Asian (N=12), followed by Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (N=4), African-American (N=3) and Hispanic/Latino (N=1).

Initial Referral:

In 2007, clients were most frequently referred by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (N=11); these referrals included 3 school-to-work students. Self or advocate (N=3) also referred clients to ETP during 2007. The latter have been with the Employment Training Program for over 20 years; referral information at that time was not documented. These latter clients have developmental disabilities and receive services from the King County Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Quantity of Services:

During 2007, the total number of service hours reported for 85 clients was 3,074. The majority of these service hours were for job development, retention, replacement and follow-along for clients receiving long-term funding through KCDD.

Employment Outcomes:

Of the 85 clients served in 2007, 57 are employed, 3 are in high school (as of December, 2007), 11 exited the program (9 with jobs, 1 without employment and 1 retirement) and 14 are unemployed and in the job development phase. Figure XX does not include the students in high school or those who exited the program.

Six ETP client worked full time in 2007 and 27 worked 20 hours or more.

Client Wages and Benefits:

75% of the clients employed in 2007 earned over the minimum wage with an average wage of $9.26/hour. 35% of the employed clients reported employer-provided benefits. These benefits included vacation and sick leave and retirement.
